Bi Mo Bimo Kan b/w Oluwa Loran Mi (7"; Decca NWA 5234)
-- According to Michael Kieffer, an online bio of Owoh on the Nigeria-Arts.net page quotes him as giving the titles of his first record for Decca as "Oluwa Loran Mi" and "Mobimo Kan To Dagba," and the date of release as 1960. The first title exactly matches this earliest Owoh Decca Michael has, and the flip side title on the record is "Bi Mo Bimo Kan" which is probably similar enough to attribute the difference to the interviewer, Owoh himself not correctly remembering the title, or Decca's original title not being correct. Michael speculates that there is no way this record was released in 1960, it is definitely no earlier than 1965, although it is slightly possible that it is a reissue or new recordings of the previously released songs. Unless other independent documentation is turned up to show otherwise, Michael suggested me to maintain that his first record was released in 1965/6, and either Owoh or his interviewer made a mistake on the 1960 date.
